Tomball – The Country Town By the Big City
Tomball is a small town in Texas just up Highway 249 from Houston. Most people from Houston consider Tomball to be Houston, but we in Tomball think differently. Our little town is the perfect combination of country and city, rural and urban, homey and sophisticated. You can reach downtown Houston in about 40 minutes when traffic is light, so it’s close enough for commuters to live ‘in the country’ but work in the city. On the other hand, in all other directions, you’ll find farm and ranch land, with plenty of horses, cows, goats, and such. We even have a Cowboy Church.
I think that since Tomball has a reputation of being a country town, ‘city folk’ don’t really want to move out here. What they don’t know is that we have wonderful high class restaurants, beautiful nail salons and spas, a world-class hospital, and plenty of jobs. Just east of us is The Woodlands, which is known to be a higher class version of Houston – and we’re right next to it.
We really have the best of both worlds. If any of you women out there in or near Tomball are looking for an outing that those Houston ladies think we don’t do, check out the map below for a few of my favorite salons in the area. Hope you find something useful. Cheers!
