Thanksgiving - The forgotten season
Halloween merchandise has been out for some time and soon Christmas items will take over the marketplace. What happened to Thanksgiving? Refreshingly, it's a holiday season that hard to commercialize. As we gather to thank God for His blessings to our nation and our families, it's also an appropriate time to thank those who serve us on a daily basis. Just think of all the people that regularly bless your life - grocery clerks, policemen, teachers, beauticians, pastors, delivery men, waiters, postmen, janitors, etc. The list goes on and on. Many people work day in and day out without a word of encouragement from anyone. A simple thank you note or small handmade gift is the perfect way to say, "I appreciate you!" Do you like to bake, sew, do crafts, paint, garden or cook? Almost any skill or hobby can be used to give someone a special thank you. If you don't have the time or ability, a small thoughtful purchased item can also be a blessing. Have fun this next month being creative with ways to say "Thank You!" Until next time......ECB
